
Shauneese Morrison
Biography
Shauneese is a successful Studio Owner, Director, Teacher, and Choreographer. Many of her
students have been submitted into prestigious dance programs (Julliard, Joffrey Ballet School,
The Ailey School, Boston Conservatory, Miami City Ballet, and Pace University), and have gone
on to pursue successful careers in dance. Her company Morrison Choreography creates
choreographic works for stage, film, and television productions. Shauneese is most at home
when she is able to choreograph work that highlights elements of the human experience.
Most recently, she was commissioned to set a piece for Dance Theatre of Harlem’s Vision Gala.
Her work has gained recognition in the documentary Passion Over Talent, produced by
Maktoob Films. Additionally, she made an appearance in the Netflix series Madam CJ Walker
story; Self Made. Among her notable achievements, she played a pivotal role in founding and
developing the Raptor's 905 Dance Troupe for the National Basketball League. Notably, she
choreographed the acclaimed piece titled “For the Love of Dance,” showcased at Atlanta’s
National Black Arts Festival. During this project, she collaborated with the esteemed tap dance
master, Savion Glover – a career highlight for her.
As a teacher, she holds a teaching certificate in Stage and Acrobatics with The British Association
Teachers of Dancing. She is a member of the Royal Academy of Dance, Dance Ontario, and the
Professional Adjudicator’s Alliance. Shauneese has a combined Honours in Political Science and
Economics from McMaster University and a minor in Peace Studies.
Shauneese enjoys sharing her knowledge with the dance community and prides herself on her
understanding of a wide range of dance disciplines. She encourages dancers to embrace and train in as many dance genres and styles as possible. She is an advocate of diversity and champions for increased visibility and inclusion in the arts.
